“Words of the Week(end)” – Challenge #1

I spent the past weekend with three of my oldest and dearest friends.  Over the course of the weekend, we talked about a number of different words that we really like, their meanings and our joy of using them in sentences when at all possible.  This inspired me to the thought of a challenge that I think I shall begin on a regular basis.

So, welcome to my first ever “words of the week” sentence challenge!  Technically, this would be “words of the weekend”, but we shan’t quibble over semantics.  I am hoping to get a lot of responses, and am interested to see what kind of wonderfully creative sentences YOU can derive from the following words:

  • Alacrity
  • Vapid
  • Copacetic
  • Nefarious
  • Simper
  • Perseverating
  • Iota

The challenge is to use as many as possible in a sentence (although if you MUST bleed over into two sentences, if shall be allowed considering the number of words listed this week).  I will read the sentences left in the comments and choose my favorite.  That individual will get a chance to submit one of their favorite words to NEXT week’s challenge.  Have fun!

  1. Hmmmm . . . I may have to think on this for a while. 🙂

  2. The arch-villain, Lex Luthor, is copacetic with his henchmen being somewhat vapid, as long as they simper quietly and carry out every iota of his nefarious schemes with alacrity.
